It's not a deer...

but it is a sweet pet...We finally got a puppy! Brenly has been begging for the past 3 years for a puppy...we have put her off long enough, and after she completely attached herself to the deer for a night, we figured it was time to really start looking for a one! We really have been try for a few months to adopt a puppy from the animal shelter...We called a few months ago, and the one that we really wanted...apparently 50 more people wanted him too! We missed out on that one! Then last Monday we called about a "Daisy" and they said that she had already been adopted...Brenly was devastated! On Wednesday, I got back on the website and there were two more puppies just like Daisy. Come to find out they were Daisy's sisters, but they hadn't been put on the website...I called to find out if they were still available and she said that they were, but if we wanted one, we needed to come now...Lap dogs usually go really quick! We went to the shelter and saw both of the puppies and Brenly fell in love immediately...I KNEW that we would be leaving with a puppy that day! Ray and Brenly liked one of the pups, Avery and I like the other pup...Brenly won out and Bella became ours :0)

She is really a good dog! We have already been working on crate training her for the night and she has done great! She had grown to love it and even goes in there during the day to rest! She barks very little, and now we are just praying that she learns to be potty trained REAL SOON!! You tend to forget that part!!

The wife of a Game Warden..

I have posted several times about having a Game Warden for a husband...There are many times that he finds "treasures" and brings them home! Most of his "finds" are usually DOA, but this one, well, it was different! He called around 10PM and asked if the girls were asleep. I explained that I had been trying to get them to go to bed for hours and was unsuccessful. He made me promise that I would keep them up until he got home, he had "something" that they needed to see! I am sitting in the recliner in the living room when I hear the kitchen door open! I look above the chair and all I can see is the HUGE smile on his face, so I quickly look around the chair and see this staring at me...

Let's just say I freaked out just a little that a fawn was IN MY HOUSE! The girls heard that daddy was home so they come barreling down the hall, when I have to warn them to SLOW down and BE QUIET! They round the corner and notice the wildlife that has entered our house! Avery was not so fond of it at first,

but for Brenly it was love at first sight

Turns out that Ray had gotten a call about a woman who had picked up the deer near the side of a road and took it home to be her pet (which is illegal, in case any of you are wanting a pet deer!) So he had to go get it and bring it to our home...The following morning he was taking it to a woman who rehabilitates wild animals! This fawn was so domesticated that it followed us around like a little puppy! So we aren't sure if it will ever be able to live in the wild again! It was a once in a lifetime experience and we were glad to have a pet, even if it was only for 12 hours! :)

Sometimes having a Game Warden for a husband is pretty exciting!

4th of July

with Faith Baptist at Buckhead Creek...We met up with Gran, Papooh and KeKe to have a picnic dinner and watch fireworks! The Peterson's decided to join us and we were so glad that they did!

3rd of July

at OUR house...I love my house and where its located...and I love it even more that the 4th of July celebration happens in the park right across the street from my house...With this being our first July in this house, I decided that we would have a little cookout and invite the family over! We had a great time, with great weather and LOTS of fun memories!

The First 4th of July Celebration

The Sunday before 4th of July we headed to Bellevue Baptist Church for their annual celebration...We always have such a good time...this year, Mandisa and Matthew West preformed and they were both great!

Apparently, Avery has decided that CJ is her boyfriend and is adamant about the fact that they are going to get married (she is really into the whole princess thing, she is going to wear a pretty dress, get married, the works!) and it seems that she took full advantage of the fact that they were together on a hot summer night, under the fireworks...she tried to make her move...and succeeded, I think! :) (yes, I pray daily for her...she wears me out! But I love her to pieces!)
