Oh Right, Dear Jesus...

We have tried to make sure that our girls know that Jesus will ALWAYS be there for them. We have taught them that when we pray to Jesus, we are talking to Him and He ALWAYS listens! With Avery especially, she "prays" alot, over certain circumstances...

Dear Jesus, thank you for this day. AMEN! Dear Jesus, Keep us safe. AMEN! Dear Jesus, make me not be scared. AMEN! It is the most precious thing ever to hear your children praying to the Lord!

Avery is extremely scared of the rain...yes, just rain...She is really scared of thunder, and she knows that Thunder only happens when it rains...therefore-scared of the rain!
So the other night we went on a walk and it just so happened that as we got half way through our walk and it started sprinkling! This was the conversation that followed:
Avery: Is it raining
Me: yes
Avery: I'n scared
Me: you dont need to be scared
Avery: Oh right, Dear Jesus, help me not be scared. AMEN

Its just funny that she was going to allow herself to be scared and then quickly remembered what we have taught her so many times before...and went ahead and said a prayer!

Community Helper Day..

at Brenly's school...so she decided that she wanted to be a dentist! I have NO clue where she got that from :) So I went on a hunt for children's scrubs and they were NONE available in the city (we could have ordered some...however what parent does things way in advance to have time to order) So I went around the city, bought a pair of adult scrubs and made ALOT of modifications...but she loved it and looked precious!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

and its not Christmas...Its MONTREAT!!! We love this time of year! Every Labor Day for the last 8-9 years (at least for me...Its actually the 29th year for the family reunion!) we have a family reunion...We have named it McPEACH weekend (We stole that from the PEACH group...and just had to add the MC to it...McMillen, Patton, Edwards, Allen, Christopher, Henley...the last names of all the families that attend)
ANYWAY...It is the most fabulous weekend! and unfortunately this year, our trip was rushed due to the fact that Brenly is growing up WAY TOO FAST and is now a big Kindergartner!! However the short trip didn't diminish the fact that Montreat is quite possibly our favorite place (next to the beach!)

(the group after we climbed Lookout Mountain...we are missing MiMi, Grandfather and Avery...they decided to stay at the park and Play!!)
