Another Snow Day...

and this one was VERY unexpected!! There was NO mention of ANY precipitation... and at 5:45 I received the Shelby County School phone call telling us that school was out! WHAT??? I immediately jumped out of bed to see the ground COVERED in snow...






I started with my morning workout, only to receive a phone call from my office manager telling me that we weren't going to work either! WHOO HOOO! Snow Day for the entire family! And we had lots of fun! As soon as Brenly started to stir...I went to her room and opened the shade so that she could see the 4 inches of "good" snow covering the ground! She was SOOOO excited and immediately wanted to get dressed to go play...and so we did..by 8:00, we were all dressed to get out in the snow!




We made snow angels...



had a snowball fight,




made a snow man,




ate snow (that was Avery's favorite :)



ate snowcream...the whole nine yards!
Thank you God for such an unexpected surprise...causing us to stop and realize how important it is to spend quality time with our children! What a great day!!

A mountain retreat...

a month late...We were supposed to take this moutain getaway trip 2 days after Christmas...however because of my dad passing away we had to cancel it and they let us reschedule, and this just happened to be the weekend that it was scheduled for!!!
Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, and it was very wet and cold!


But that didn't stop us from having a great time...anytime that the whole family gets together we have lots of fun!





While we were there, we got to celebrate Avery's birthday (Her actual birthday is Tomorrow -the 9th!) with all the family!






She LOVED it! MiMi and Grandfather had gotten all this "princess" stuff and got her a highchair for her "bitty baby"!

Praise the Lord for Homeowners Insurance...

Unfortunately we are having to use it :(
Last Wednesday we were at home and we were in between the kitchen and the dining room. We looked down and noticed that there ws ome water on the floor...We called for Avery to see if she spilled some water on the floor...She denied any wrong doing, so we wiped it up and went about our day...Approx. 15 minutes later I was walking through the kitchen again, and the puddle was there again and this time it was even bigger! I walked into the dining room and HEARD the water squishing under the hardwood floor...and the boards were already bowing!! Ray proceeded to turn off the water at the street (Praise the Lord!) and we walked into the living room and noticed that water had already damaged some of the floor in there as well! We called our insurance agent (who happens to be a good friend) and explaine to him what had happened. We then started to rip up the floor (that was just placed in august, right before we bought this house!) WATER WAS EVERYWHERE!!!
By 5:30 we had a plumber out here who found a pinhole leak in an outside pipe! It was fixed...but the damge was already done! We are now waiting for insurance agent to come and give an estimate of all the damage that was done! Its been a long week...and just ready for this all to be over!!

What in the world is she allergic to??

For about 3 weeks now, Brenly has been breaking out with a horrible rash with whelps...It itches like crazy and drives her nuts...we have taken her to the doctor and they seem to think that it is an allergic reaction to SOMETHING...We were hoping that it was a one time thing...however it keeps happening! I suppose that means that we will have to get some alergy testing done!!

Since we were iced in...

I decided to start (and finish) a project! (actually two!) We were all at home on Friday,(the 29th) Ray and I were off work and Brenly and Avery were home as well...We were expected to get quite a bit of rain with temps way below 32°, which meant we were going to be iced in...before things got bad, I called Home Depot and asked if I had enough time to get there before they closed. They said I had 30 minutes to get there! I got there in just enough time to pick up all of the painting supplies and get paint for both Brenly (light blue)


and Avery's (light pink) room



...After MANY coats of paint, it turned out perfect and they both LOVE their room!!

Another one bites the dust...

another tooth that is...just approx. 1 week after losing her first tooth...she lost the 2nd one...This has been a big year for my little (yet not so little) girl! Time flies by!
